Yeah, don't worry. We're well aware of the problems that we're facing in terms of player base and, well, everything, but there are certainly plans afoot. I'm not going to go into much detail right now, but I think people are going to be quite excited about what we've got in the pipeline.

Well...as I say, we're not necessarily after someone who can create loads of puzzles in different 'genres' at a moments notice. What we really want is someone who can organise the puzzles in the game. Kind of a puzzle manager I suppose.

For a change, today I'm here to try and plug a gap we have in the project. Who'd've thunk it?

Anyway, first an update. Work is still progressing, a tad more quickly now, and we're starting to get some content off the ground. And we need at least one or two people to help with that; in fact, be instrumental in getting the project off the ground.

Essentially, what we need is someone who can make puzzles. But not just make puzzles: ideally we want someone who can co-ordinate the puzzles for the entire game. Keeping track of puzzle makers, commissioning new puzzles to be made, helping to design any metapuzzles, that kind of thing. Of course, as it's still early days, we'd hope that you can help out with other aspects of the game's design as well. You will have to fit in with certain aspects of the game that are already set in stone, I'm afraid, but there's still plenty of room for creativity and innovation.

If you're interested, please do send me a private message, telling me what you can bring to the project, an example or two of some puzzles you've created (and a step-by-step of the answer, I'm a bit thick ).

A couple of other things: there are only, as I said, one or two places at the moment, but the plan is to widen our remit of puzzle creators further down the line. At this stage, we would prefer applicants from Europe, since this will allow us to communicate much more easily, but don't let that put you off if you're from further afield: If you've got the talent, we want you aboard.

The other very important point is that you must be committed for the length of the project, or at the very least as long as you can guarantee. This could be up to a year and, since we're doing this off our own backs, we can't offer any payment or reward beyond the satisfaction of creating a game for the world to enjoy. You also have to be good at keeping secrets. Obviously

As I said the other day, we'll be needing people to help make the game in the not-too-distant-future. Well, it turns out that the 'not-too-distant-future' has become 'today'.

What we need is someone who is a tech head. Someone who can build - or at the very least help conceptualise - a website for our game. I, quite obviously, don't just mean basic HTML: we'll need some entirely custom, probably quite high-end, stuff. Now, I'm not brilliant at this kind of thing, so I don't know precisely what kind of coding know-how you'll need to have. But the bigger your brain is for all things technical, the more I want to talk to you!

Even if you don't have a vast amount of experience in the field. If you've got the know-how and the passion to make something great, please do get in touch.

You'll undoubtedly be involved in some other aspects of the game's design and structure to a degree, so if you feel you could bring something to the table in that respect as well, it would be marvellous.

Just an FYI, work on the project is starting to get off the ground now, after a couple of setbacks. There's a small number of us working on it at the moment, but we'll probably need more in the not-too-distant future. And before anyone says anything, there's nothing even vaguely approaching an ETA yet.

The cards aren't on sale anymore as far as I know, I'm afraid, Mind Candy only really released them to clear warehouse space I think. 'Once they're gone, they're gone' kind of thing. They're not even solvable on the site, but a couple of the guys at MC created a different site. There's a link somewhere in the Season 2 board of this forum.

There are probably ways you could get some S2W2 cards, though. I've not got any spares, personally, but there should be a generous person or two who can help you out

Yeah, the scale really can't be overlooked. As sledge alludes to, with O:SC, we were working for nigh-on a year with a 'staff' team of at least 15/20 people for the most part, and we had some money to play with (for server costs etc. mostly). Admittedly not a huge amount, but still considerably more than we'd probably have for this.

This, even with a load of people working part time, would probably take longer if anything. If we were aiming for it to be better than 'crap' anyway

That said, I'm still totally up for helping make it a reality in some way. But people really are going to have to be passionate, committed, hard working and determined to make a go of it for it to work.

They've been out for some time now. I don't think they're available anymore, though. The creators, Mind Candy, only really released the wave to clear their warehouse out, and exclusively to firebox.com. But Firebox only has Wave One in stock, it would seem, and I very much doubt they'll be getting any more.

This is exactly the problem! I think it would be best to have a small handful of 'staff' puzzle scribes with some contributions from others. I think that's roughly how we worked it in O:SC, but Book would know more, being as he was the man in charge of puzzles and missions!

This is actually part of the reason I haven't progressed from the ideas I mentioned earlier. But I don't think it would be a huge issue if we don't make profit from it and don't blatantly steal certain elements. We should be able to get away with using the world, though maybe not necessarily the main characters, and make our own spin on it. Having said that, it might be an idea to have a word with someone from MC anyway.

I'm up for that. Think it might be best to start some kind of group (a Google group or somesuch) to keep stuff in.

And we're going to need to know what people can bring to the table o'course. I personally can do any creative writing, possibly some game design, and maybe some puzzles as well.
