Hello!
As you'll have noticed, we've relaunched the forums for Season 2 of Perplex City / We Love Puzzles. We're aiming to make these forums a great place to hang out and talk with fellow puzzle solvers, and we've been thrilled to see you all making yourselves at home here already. To help us keep the forums running smoothly, though, we're looking for volunteer moderators. As a volunteer moderator, you'll have a high profile presence on the forums, keep conversations on track, and answer questions. Volunteer moderators will be able to edit, lock, merge and promote threads, plus have special PuzzlePhone access to Mind Candy to help you in your valiant quest for justice / a friendly chat. For example, one of the things a volunteer moderator could do is monitor the bugs and suggestions threads to make sure that duplicate bugs and suggestions aren't posted, and to help us keep on top of bugs and suggestions posted. Well, you're all a terribly eager bunch! We've had an astonishing number of replies to our call for volunteer moderators, and we're sifting through the responses at the moment. We'll probably expand the first round of volunteers, so don't be surprised if we appoint more than three to five. We'll also publish a list of successful volunteers in the next few days. Hello!
Wow, that was quick. An instant deluge of volunteers for our forums. It hasn't escaped our notice, however, that the vast majority of volunteers are based in the UK, or are in a GMTish time zone. What we're now looking for are volunteers who are outside the UK timezone, specifically, North American East Coast, North American West Coast and Asia/Australia. As a volunteer moderator, you'll be expected to have a high profile and visibility on the forums, keep threads on-topic and on-track, and have a generally helpful demeanor. Volunteer moderators will be able to edit, lock, merge and promote threads, plus have super special Batphone access to Mind Candy to help you in your forum policing moonlighting job. For example, one of the things a volunteer moderator would do is monitor the bugs and suggestions threads to make sure that duplicate bugs and suggestions aren't posted, and to help us keep on top of bugs and suggestions posted.
